Abstract

This invited editorial discusses positive and negative dysphotopsia in pseudophakia and emphasizes two priorities for progress: measuring real-patient alignment of ocular elements (for example pupil-IOL decentration/tilt) and using objective metrics of visual disturbance. The authors argue these quantitative, patient-level data are essential to validate ray-tracing hypotheses and to guide future treatment studies.
